Dr. Barbara Alston is an accomplished academic and HR leader with over 20 years of experience in business, leadership and workforce strategy.. She holds a Doctorate in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources from Nova Southeastern University, as well as an MBA and BBA from Averett University.

She currently serves as an Associate Professor of Human Resources, where she integrates real-world leadership and industry experience into her teaching. In addition to teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses, Dr. Alston has chaired multiple dissertation committees and provides academic and doctoral coaching to support student success.

Dr. Alston brings extensive experience in Human Resources and Financial Services, along with certifications in both the public and private sectors (SHRM-CP and PSHRA-SCP). She also serves as a peer reviewer for leadership and HR journals and contributes to the field through ongoing scholarship and publication.

Originally from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Alston now resides in Orlando, Florida. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys outdoor activities, reading, and spending time with family.
